Until recently, I wasn't really focused on adapting my skincare routine seasonally. That changed (admittedly very slowly) once I entered my thirties and my skin became noticeably drier as described here. Now, I switch out a few key products twice a year, going with lighter moisturizers for spring and summer and heartier options for fall and winter. My skin was acting up more than usual this spring, and as I ran out of the toner and moisturizing oil I'd been using I decided a reset was in order.
I discovered the British brand de Mamiel two years ago and have grown to appreciate their seasonal approach. I'm a big fan of the brand's Restorative Cleansing Balm, which converted me to using rich, oil based cleansers and remains my go-to winter face wash. Take my word for it, this stuff smells amazing.
I also adored de Mamiel's Dewy Facial Mist when first using it a couple years back, but because I go through hydrating toners at a good clip I looked for a less expensive option. While I found other products that I like, none of them quite matched this one so I put it back into my rotation. Like all the de Mamiel products I've tested, it's a joy to use - I find it to be a relaxing ritual, even if only for a moment. The Spring Facial Oil is soothing and has helped smooth out the seasonal transition that had thrown off my complexion. I've found it to be sufficiently nourishing but also perfectly light.
