Groundbreaking. And yet, this Equipment blouse is it not the average floral piece. The floating print feels less precious and less predictable, adding just a little edge. I also love this moody version of the same print on a dark background.
To play up the toughness, I added distressed charcoal gray denim (last seen here, which coincidentally was also in LA!) and a metallic clutch for a night out in Santa Monica last weekend. The balance of softer, feminine elements (flowers, rose gold) paired with textured shades of gray (in suede and ripped denim) felt like an an appropriately tentative first step towards spring, as we emerge from a late winter surge. Spending a long weekend in Southern California certainly helped me shake off winter and look ahead towards spring. As we move fully into the season of new blossoms, I'm brainstorming a seasonal closet purge and all the ways I want to style this blouse.
