We are in the final stretch before our wedding, and I thought it would be fun to share a few of our engagement photos. As soon as we booked our venue, I immediately focused on finding our photographers. I'm a very visual person, so the photography was a top priority for me. My fiancé and I knew that we wanted to take engagement photos in New York City, where we met and where each of us has called home for the past 10 years. We worked with Columbus-based Red Gallery Photography, and just truly could not be more thrilled with results. They came to NYC last fall, and we spent a morning walking all over Dumbo, Brooklyn capturing our favorite neighborhood vistas - plus some stunning bridge and skyline views too.
I will be totally honest with you - I obsessed over what we should wear. I wanted our attire to complement each other without being (gasp) matchy matchy and to stay fairly classic. My goal was to prioritize things that were timeless and steer clear of anything too trendy. We tried to think about outfits that would photograph well, so we avoided bright whites, loud graphics, or anything busy, and I kept my jewelry minimal. My red coat was the boldest element, which contrasted well with the urban grays and slightly overcast skies.
We thoroughly enjoyed working with Red Gallery, and we're so excited to have them onboard for our wedding. It has been pure joy to get to use these beautiful photos throughout our wedding planning process. We have literally hundreds of photos, which I've whittled down to a few favorites here. I still smile every time I look at them.
