Gran Electrica is one of those rare restaurants that I can heartily recommend for every occasion. After work drinks? Check. The cocktails are on point and the bar is hopping. Date night? Absolutely. It's one of our favorite spots for a delicious candlelit meal that never feels stuffy. Brunch with girlfriends? Big group outing? Yes and yes. I've literally had each of these meals at Gran Electrica, partly because I'll find any excuse to go back.
Their farm-to-table Mexican food is satisfying and delicious, with thoughtful and inventive seasonal updates plus plenty of classic dishes. The house margarita is balanced and understated, and if you're feeling adventurous try the Margarita de Pepino. I recommend all of the tacos (take your pick) and, if you stop by for brunch, I love the cemitas sandwich and the chilaquiles. While you're there, don't overlook the cheeky skeleton toile wallpaper featuring local landmarks. If all of that isn't enough to convince you, Gran Electrica also boasts a delightful back patio that was recently renovated. We weren't able to take advantage of the secret garden with ivy-covered walls on our most recent visit because of chilly rain, so I guess I'll just have to return again soon.
