If you put all of my favorite things into one glass, this cocktail is the result. I've written elsewhere about my fondness for gin cocktails and have shared a longtime favorite version here. This rosemary lemon gin fizz is as refreshing as lemonade, with a savory note from rosemary-infused simple syrup.
When my fiancé, Doug, and I started dating, he wasn't a fan of gin. After three years together (we celebrate our anniversary this week!), Doug tried the gin cocktails which I reliably order and eventually developed an appreciation for the spirit. I hardly realized that this was happening, and was pleasantly shocked the first time that he ordered a drink with gin for himself. These days, he's fully onboard and gave this rosemary lemon gin fizz rave reviews.
I referred to this recipe, and used my food processor (of course) to grind rosemary to make the syrup. I now have a bit of extra syrup on hand, making it even easier to whip these up on a regular basis. They're just begging to be sipped outdoors and preferably at golden hour, when we enjoyed these. Dare I say - the rosemary gin fizz might just be our new favorite drink.
I found the most incredible rosemary. It's huge and beautiful and smells deliciously woodsy. The whole apartment smelled amazing after making this drink!
This sight makes me deeply happy.
Rosemary simple syrup going into the drink.
