We have just passed the official first day of spring (it was Sunday, ICYMI), and so a new season is officially upon us. Even after the weirdly mild winter we experienced in NYC, I'm ready for spring. Bring on longer days, and warmer breezes, and buds and blossoms peeking on around the city.
While I'm usually diving headfirst into pastels, brights and florals for spring (groundbreaking, I know!), this year I wanted an edgier, moodier take. I realize that black denim doesn't traditionally scream "spring!", but the slight distressing at the knees provides a very urban nod to the changing seasons. Trust me - I would not be trekking around NYC in these on blustery winter days!
The Rag&Bone/JEAN denim (discovered via this indispensable denim round-up) is a perfect soft black, similar to the effect of the suede booties. Add in this incredibly soft, heather gray Rag & Bone/JEAN long sleeve t-shirt and you have a city-approved outfit foundation ready to pair with any accessories. In this case, that was my Spiewak field jacket (last seen here) and Rebecca Minkoff envelope clutch.
