Tis the season for family celebrations and gift giving. In that spirit, I'm continuing my tradition of compiling a mini holiday gift guide (see last year's guid here), just a handful of thoughtfully selected items that I would be thrilled to give or receive.
Ellis Brooklyn "Fable" Candle - These luxury candles are handmade in New York state and I love all of their fragrances, which are subtle and elegant. Fable is a particular favorite, but all of their candles look sophisticated in green glass and have matching lotion, making the set a sophisticated choice to display in bathrooms or on the kitchen counter.
Madewell Buffalo Check Cape Scarf - Gifting a scarf isn't rocket science, but it is a popular gift for good reason. Scarves are seasonally appropriate, don't require guesses about sizing, and add personality to winter outfits. Madewell's cape scarf adds a fun twist on a classic gift, and I can't wait to wear my version from last season (previously seen here and here) on repeat.
Kjaer Weis Red Lipstick - Kjaer Weis made waves earlier this year when the cult-favorite luxe beauty line introduced its long-awaited lipsticks. This shade, called KW Red, is truly a signature red. Take it from someone who owns three different shades of red lipstick (just red, not deep wines or berries), this is a truly classic, outfit-making shade. Be warned - this lipstick has been selling out!
Brass Trays - I first took note of the thoughtful design and the marriage of form and function found in Japanese housewares on a trip to Japan three years ago. These brass trays demonstrate the quality and heritage that I have come to appreciate so dearly, and would make a beautiful addition to any vanity, dresser, or desk. I envision using them (either individually or as a set) to display jewelry, perfumes, and other accessories.
Ohio Stoneware Mixing Bowls - These bowls (which are also available here) are a time-tested classic that would look great in any kitchen. They're versatile and hardy, and they're made in Zanesville, Ohio, which has a long heritage making heirloom-quality pottery.
RMS Beauty Nail Polish - I love red lipstick, as you know (see: above) but have typically had a hard time finding a red nail polish to get excited about. I gravitated to various deep, dark wines and all sorts of pinks, but pure reds somehow seemed too garish or looked thin. No longer. RMS Beauty's Killer Red caught my eye on Instagram and it is perfect. It's a true, perfect red that is creamy and rich and just the right amount of bold.
