I often go through an awkward phase during early fall when I wear a lot of pants. It seems just too cold for dresses, but I'm not yet ready to admit defeat and start wearing opaque tights. This, season, I've been determined to conquer this transitional moment, and it turns out it's not terribly hard. I've been gravitating towards dresses in darker prints with sleeves and slightly longer hemlines (i.e. knee length. These design details help dresses hold their own with the addition of riding boots, a quilted bomber jacket (the perfect lightweight layer), and a wool hat. Not only do these three accessories complete the look, they are utterly practical and keep me warm - even when wind picks up as seen below!
