It has been a cold, blustery, and icy winter this year (after an abundance of snow in NYC last winter). One of the things I've learned about city winters is how much I appreciate having a few coats to choose from and bold colors to brighten up gray days. This red Katherine Hooker jacket always does the trick, and I was thrilled to find this plaid blanket scarf which complements it perfectly. Both pieces were in heavy rotation for the past few months.
One of my tricks for getting around in the cold (not seen here) is to wrap one end of a blanket scarf under my jacket and to wrap the other end around my neck, letting it pile up high to block the wind. I am also thrilled with how these Aquatalia boots held up through the winter. They're weatherproof and water resistant, and are a great alternative to my serious snow boots (which I wear almost constantly to get around the city when it's slushy). When I want to dress up in the winter, this outfit is my go-to combination.
